TESTIMONIALS
"Jackie,
Your love and respect for your subject and for your performers is obvious. Thank you so much.
Love,
Lauren Graham (Nurse Matthews, Dallas Production)
"Congratulations Jackie on keeping this piece alive and thriving. I was so fortunate
at my very young age to be a very small part of its journey. Continued success."
Darius de Haas ('Short-timer' Brown and his son, Henry Jr, Lake La Donna Production)
"Jackie: You've added the melody some thought was lost."
Rick Eilert, author
"For Self and Country"
"...I listened to Jackie's songs and found them to be
well-crafted and delightfully sung..."
Mary Travers,
Peter, Paul & Mary
"Jackie's work is a powerful echo of the conditions we encountered interviewing
the survivors of a combat infantry company. The veterans will recognize something of their own experience in her songs."
Peter Goldman, Senior Editor, Newsweek
"Your songs always seem to bring new meaning to issues, and compel those listening to reaffirm their dedication to the
solution of the issues of which you sing..."
Allen Lynch, Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient

Above and Beyond the Call
The Medal of Honor Song
copyright 1987 Jackie Marx
Brothers in Arms, for God and Country
Bound by duty, fighting for freedom
In the heat of battle, armed with courage,
you took a stand
Though you could taste the danger,
your heart was beating faster,
you didn't hesitate
Something inside of you was guiding you,
Above and Beyond the Call
Above and Beyond the call, your life upon the line
you took a stand to save your fellow man
Above and Beyond the Call, courageous, brave and true
You did what you had to do...
Above and Beyond the Call
Though you could taste the danger,
your heart was beating faster,
you didn't hesitate You didn't hesitate
Brothers in Peace, America's heroes
Kindred spirits, comrades forever
In the midst of battle, armed with courage
you took a stand
Above and Beyond the Call, your life upon the line
you took a stand to save your fellow man
Above and Beyond the Call, courageous brave and true
You did what you had to do...
Above and Beyond the Call
The catalyst for Jackie's song, Above and Beyond the Call, was meeting Medal of Honor Recipient, Allen Lynch (Us Army, Vietnam) and reading his Congressional citation.

The Congressional Medal of Honor is the highest US military decoration, awarded by Congress to a member of the Armed Forces for gallantry and bravery in combat at the risk of life above and beyond the Call of Duty.
The choir from King of Glory Church (Tempe, AZ) performed ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL at the Korean War Veterans Association Dinner honoring the Medal of Honor recipients, Jackie was honored to sing her original song, If Only You Were Here Dad (honoring the brave members of the Armed Forces who did not return home from the war).
